Economic Development Corporation Hires Wells

The Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County has hired Destin Wells as the new vice president of business development services. Wells comes to the EDC from Enterprise Florida, where he was business development director, working across industries in the recruitment, retention and expansion of businesses in the state. Prior to his time with Enterprise Florida, he worked at the Small Business Development Center, focusing on assisting clients identify foreign markets to pursue revenue increase and diversification as a part of the Export Marketing Plan program. Wells earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees at the University of Central Florida. The position of vice president of business development services provides key strategic leadership for all of the EDC’s business development services related to supporting the growth of local targeted industries, attracting new targeted industries and improving Sarasota County’s competitiveness for achieving targeted industry growth.
