Manatee Education Foundation Funds $108K in Grants

Business

230 teachers will receive classroom grants to fund educational projects for their students when the Manatee Education Foundation hosts its teacher IMPACT grants reception this Thursday. In total, $108,000 will be awarded to 45 schools during the reception. Awarding the funds at the end of 1st quarter allows for plenty of time to use the funds in the classroom. Teachers ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade submitted applications mid-September for this school year. Grants will be funded in the following categories:  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Literacy, Disadvantaged and At-Risk Youth, Arts & Culture, Environment, Children with Disabilities, Health & Fitness and Teacher Development. Community businesses and school leaders will be on hand to help celebrate and reward teachers whose daily efforts in the classroom shape the future of the community and help build tomorrow’s workforce.
