County Fire Department Hosts Virtual Ride-Along

Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD) is taking citizens on a virtual ride-along 9am to 4pm on Nov. 16, as the department will host itsfirst-ever "Tweet from the Heat." The virtual ride-along will allow residents to see what happens in the course of a day in the fire department. The Emergency Services Media Relations Officer will tweet on behalf of Battalion Chief Derek Boyer, who will share what happens in the course of his day, station crews that fall in his battalion area and safety tips. Followers on Twitter @scgoveoc will also be able to ask questions and interact with SCFD personnel while they are on shift. To join the Sarasota County Fire Department in the "Tweet from the Heat" virtual ride along, Twitter users can follow the handle @scgoveoc.
