At its November 20, 2017 regular board meeting, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority unanimously elected Commissioner Bob Spencer as Chairman for 2018. Mr. Spencer served previously as Vice Chairman in 2017. He was appointed to the board in September 2015 by Governor Rick Scott. Chairman Spencer is President of West Coast Tomato, a family-owned agricultural operation, owning tomato farms and real estate in the southwest Florida area. He presently serves on various foundations and charitable organizations in Manatee County. Completing the officers for the Airport Authority will be Dr. Peter A. Wish as Vice Chairman and Doug Holder as Secretary.
