Asolo Rep and "Evita" Raise $30,000 for Puerto Rico Relief

Business

Throughout Asolo Rep's sold-out run of Evita (Nov. 14 - Dec. 30), the theatre has collected donations for Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria relief in Puerto Rico. The initiative was inspired by Ana Isabelle (who plays Eva  Perón in Evita), a celebrated Puerto Rican recording artist and actress who traveled from New York City to Puerto Rico to be with her family during the devastation of Hurricane Maria. The theatre has raised more than $30,000. All funds raised will go directly to United for Puerto Rico, First Lady of Puerto Rico Beatriz Rosselló's initiative, in collaboration with the private sector, to provide aid and support for those impacted by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. All of the proceeds will go toward helping the victims. The fundraiser will continue through Jan. 2. Donations are accepted at the conclusion of each performance of Evita and also during normal box office hours in the lobby of the theatre.
