Join the Center for Architecture and its Good Will Reconsidered program in partnership with Newtown Alive for the Design Proposal Final Presentations for the New Cultural Arts Center planned for Newtown. Student presentations will be made on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1-5pm with a reception from 5:15-6:15pm and public comments, questions and winning design recognition and awards from 6:15-7pm. Admission is free, but registration is required. Good Will Reconsidered is a collaboration of the University of Florida's CityLab-Sarasota, Newtown neighborhood civic leaders 'Newtown Alive', Goodwill Industries Sarasota/Manatee and the Cenber for Architecture Sarasota. UF student teams from the School of Architecture and Rinker School of Construction Management are developing speculative design proposals for a new cultural arts center in the heart of the Newtown neighborhood on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way in Sarasota. The Center for Architecture's mission is to heighten understanding of and appreciation of innovation architecture, good design and sensitive urban planning.
