Local HOSA Students Earn Trip to International Conference

Business

Future Health Professionals from all over Florida competed in Orlando at the HOSA State Leadership Conference held April 5– 8, and HOSA students from Lakewood Ranch High School and Martha B. King Middle School placed in the top three of their respective events, Medical Spelling and Medical Reading. Their hard work and efforts paid off, earning them a trip to the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas, June 27-30, 2018. Gulfcoast South Area Health Education Center has been partnering with local middle and high schools, assisting the HOSA Future Health Professionals clubs as technical advisors and, when funding is available, supporting students as they travel to the state and international competitions. Joan Dixon, GSAHEC’s Director of Student Programs, visits local HOSA students monthly to help them prepare for competitive events. All HOSA students should be proud of their academic success, community service accomplishments and their commitment to fulfill such an important role as Future Health Professionals.
