Cardiologist, medical educator, innovator and philanthropist Joel Morganroth, M.D., was recently named to the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Morganroth joins a board of 25 community leaders who help advance the Healthcare Foundation’s mission to strengthen healthcare in the community. Morganroth received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. For two years, he was a clinical associate at the National Heart and Lung Institute in Bethesda, MD and completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He served in the United States Public Health Service as a Surgeon, Lieutenant Commander. Morganroth has had faculty appointments in Philadelphia as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and as a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Jefferson Medical College. Currently, he serves as Chief Cardiac Consultant to EResearchTechnology, a global company that he founded which specializes in clinical research services for pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations. He moved to Sarasota in 2009 with his wife Gail and currently sits on the Board of Trustees at The Ringling College of Art and Design.
