Allegiant Private Advisors, an independent firm in Sarasota, has announced that its chief investment officer Benjamin W. Jones, CFP, AIF, has been named to the Forbes’ Top 1,000 Next-Generation Wealth Advisors list for 2018. Jones has been managing assets for private individuals, families, and charitable organizations for more than a decade. As a principal and chief investment officer of Allegiant Private Advisors, he leads the firm’s Investment Committee. Jones is responsible for establishing the firm’s overall investment strategy, security selection, portfolio management, and oversees research activities. Jones joined the Allegiant Private Advisors in 2005, and has been active in the community through local nonprofit organizations and professional associations including the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, Young Leaders Alliance, the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Forty Carrots Family Center.

William Mehserle of Pinkerton Harkins & Mehserle Private Wealth has also been named to the Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list. At 30 years old, Mehserle has been a Pinkerton team member since 2013 and a partner in Pinkerton Private Wealth since 2016. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Georgia Tech University and has a certificate in financial planning from Emory University.

The 2018 ranking of Forbes’ Top 1,000 Next-Generation Wealth Advisors recognizes advisors born in 1980 or later with a minimum of four years of experience. Advisors were rated based on a proprietary algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria: assets under management, revenues generated for their firms, client retention, industry experience, credentials and compliance records. SHOOK Research also employs an opinion-based weighting system that prioritizes its preferred “best practices,” which include business models, activities, processes and structure. Overall, 5,832 advisors were considered, and 1,000 (17 percent of candidates) were recognized.
