SCBA Attorneys Sworn In at US Supreme Court

Business

Williams Parker attorney Erin Hope Christy, president of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Sarasota County Bar Association (SCBA), recently coordinated a visit to Washington D.C. which included a United States Supreme Court swearing-in ceremony for 23 members of the SCBA. Christy and twenty-two other members of the SCBA, including Williams Parker attorney Jennifer Fowler-Hermes, were present in the courtroom for the reading by the justices of several opinions, after which SCBA President Chip Gaylor was called by Chief Justice Roberts to present candidates for membership to the bar of the United States Supreme Court. Following the swearing-in, the inductees had a private audience with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The SCBA is a voluntary association of lawyers and judges who practice law and administer the judicial system in Sarasota County. Incorporated on January 20, 1960, the SCBA has existed as an association since 1926. The organization’s mission is to advance professionalism, promote practice development, encourage public service, enhance fellowship and support access to legal services for all.
