Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast to Recognize Dowling and Jerde

Business

Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida will be honoring two of the community’s many successful businesswomen at its upcoming benefit, Pearls and Denim, this September, Rae Dowling and Roxie Jerde. Dowling serves as president of the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Board of Directors, and external affairs manager with Florida Power & Light. In her present position, she is responsible for government affairs and community relations in Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Highlands and Hardee counties. A lifetime Girl Scout member, she is serving her second term as board president and National Council Delegate. She is a United Way Suncoast Board Member and served as the 2014 chairman of the board for the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. Roxie Jerde, President and CEO, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, has worked closely with Community Foundation donors, along with area nonprofits, businesses, and foundations, to solve important issues affecting the community. She spearheaded the launch of DonorEdge—locally branded as The Giving Partner, in partnership with local foundations, and six successful Giving Challenges that have raised more than $40 million for our local nonprofits, strengthened by support from The Patterson Foundation. She is also a Girl Scout alum from North Dakota.
