Solstice Wins Two Awards at AIA Tampa Bay Design Awards

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tampa Bay Chapter named twelve recipients of its highest annual Design Awards at the Celebrate Design awards reception on Friday, November 2nd at the USF St. Petersburg Campus. Architect Jonathan Parks AIA of the Sarasota architecture firm SOLSTICE Planning and Architecture was bestowed with two design awards. The LEED Gold residence, Thirty Oaks, on Siesta Key and built by Voigt Brothers Construction, received the Honor Award and the LEED Platinum residence, Compass House, on Longboat Key and built by Josh Wynne Construction, was recognized with the Merit Award. Criteria considered by the jurors included design quality, program resolution, innovation, thoughtfulness, and technique. This year’s jurors were from AIA Charleston: Aaron Bowman, AIA, design advocate; Dinos Liollio, FAIA, principal of Liollio Architecture; and Jeff Johnston, AIA, principal architect of SMHa Architects.
