CONA Hosts Red Tide Discussion with Suncoast Waterkeeper Executive Director

On February 11, the CONA-Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations, will host the executive director of Suncoast Waterkeeper, Justin Bloom, to discuss factors fueling red tide that potentially, are within human control and steps that may be taken to reverse human contribution to harmful algal blooms. Suncoast Waterkeeper is a Sarasota-based nonprofit that seeks to protect and restore waterways in the community and beyond, through enforcement, fieldwork, advocacy and environmental education. It is one of more than 300 waterkeeper programs around the world. This is part of a series of CONA programs related to red tide in order to encourage community action to reduce factors.
