The first installment of Friendly City Flea is kicking off this Saturday, February 23, from 10am to 2pm. The monthly collective market will be hosted at the recently-opened downtown hangout Oscura Café & Bar. Its massive, open space soaking in loads of natural light and foot traffic from Main Street deems a killer spot to set up for this assembly of trailblazing makers, young professionals, musicians and creatives. This curated gathering aims to celebrate Bradenton and beyond—with plenty of artisanal expression and flair to show for it.

Local vendors span the healthful and artful bandwidth from fresh cold-pressed juices and smoothies by The Daily Dose Juice Garden, to curated floral arrangements and lifestyle goods of Kinspoke. Meet the photographer behind the dark, rich and moody tones of Joey Monetti Creative and the self-taught decoupage artist of Art is Hard Creation’s decorative accents. While you’re getting your hands on a craft beer or latte from Oscura and saccharine treats from Sugar Cubed Pastry Lab, be sure to also get your hands on the gorgeous macramés of What-Me-Knots and the cool graphic design prints and calligraphy pieces of ALT PAPER Co. More local sirens include Elle LeBlanc, Shannon Kirsten Illustration, The SnapWagen, Gather & Grain, The Fermented Vegan, Roma Luxury Goods and The Naked Flora to show off the goods.
