SMH CEO Verinder Named to 2019 Florida 500 List

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System CEO David Verinder landed a spot on the 2019 Florida 500 list for the second time in its two-year run. The list, compiled by Florida Trend, selects executive leaders in Florida who best exemplify longevity and positive influence in their communities and industries.
The Sarasota County Public Hospital Board appointed Verinder president and CEO of the health care system in 2014. Prior to this role, he served as COO and CFO. During the past five years, he has spearheaded Sarasota Memorial’s Level II Trauma Center, Graduate Medical Education Program and began construction of a second hospital in Venice and development for a Cancer Institute, both slated to open in fall of 2021. The system has received numerous quality awards since Verinder’s appointment. Recent rankings include 100 Top Hospitals by IBM Watson Health and top 1% of high performing hospitals in all conditions and procedures evaluated by U.S. News in 2019.
