Slime Blowout is a slime convention happening for the first time in Sarasota this weekend on October 19, 2019 from 10 am to 5pm. This unique family event was inspired by an Internet phenomenon that combines art, science and stress-reduction. The convention was created with the involvement of a number of local students who wanted to see such a special event on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The Slime Blowout features a slime-making station sponsored by Elmer's Glue, so anyone attending can make slime. There are also 40+ slime vendors, an ASMR film festival, VIP slime classes, and some of the most popular slimers in the world in attendance, including peachybbies and glitter.slimes, who have over 5 million followers on social media. The ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) festival that takes place during the Slime Blowout, is one of the first of its kind in the world, and is dedicated to sound-driven videos. ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is a relaxing, often sedative sensation that is triggered by certain sounds. ASMR videos are one of the biggest YouTube and Instagram trends of the past couple of years, with millions of videos being uploaded. On its own, a top ASMR video can garner over 16 million views.
