Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced the bipartisan Save Our Stages Act last week. Alongside Congress' RESTART Act, this vital piece of legislation provides Small Business Administration grants for independent venues where Sarasota Orchestra performs, including Holley Hall, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, and Sarasota Opera House. The legislation also protects promoters and festivals affected by COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. These grants offer financial support to keep performing arts venues afloat, pay employees, and preserve the arts ecosystem and a critical economic sector in communities across America.
