The Sarasota/Manatee MPO unveiled the “Transform 2045” Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) at the MPO September board meeting.  Transform 2045 is the culmination of more than 20 months of collaboration and community involvement that relied on technical analysis, community visioning, and public engagement resulting in a list of transportation projects anticipated to be funded through 2045. “We began our effort in January 2019, gathering information from the community, to create a vision for the future. The plan we are presenting today truly addresses the ideas and needs we heard from our constituents and will transform our region over the next 25 years.” Says MPO Chair, Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant. The  long range plan identifies over 100 priority transportation projects, the timeframe for completing those projects, and guides the investment of local, state and federal funds throughout the Sarasota/Manatee region. All plans outlined in the LRTP support the MPO’s adopted vision statement: To promote economic diversity, to preserve environmental health, and to create vibrant places.
