Music Compound Presents Free Family Day

The Giving Coast

On Saturday, September 26, which is National Family Day, Music Compound will present an outdoor event, “Family Day,” featuring live music performed by Music Academy students, “Hamlet’s Eatery” food truck, Q&S Cool Cups, 30 vendors, tabling by Music Academy partners, and plenty of fun activities for families to enjoy together. Family Day takes place from 11am to 2pm at Music Compound’s downtown location, in the courtyard at The Bazaar at Apricot & Lime (821 Apricot Ave., Sarasota). Some of the student bands slated to perform include Los Rojos, Intelectuals and Unspoken. “We’re thrilled to present our inaugural Family Day for the community,” said Jenny Alday Townsend, Music Compound owner. “Not only will this event provide a safe and fun opportunity for families to spend time with each other, it also offers our students the chance to perform in front of an audience. This is critical to developing confidence as well as the ability to think on their feet; it also gives parents the opportunity to be very proud of their rising stars!”
