Manatee Elementary School Receives Grant to Support Student Literacy

Manatee Elementary School, A Community Partnership School, was recently awarded a $2,000 grant on behalf of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to support grade-level reading. Teachers will nominate students based on data and need, and it is expected that most will be English Language Learners or in Exceptional Student Education. Planned for Spring 2022 before state assessments, this new after-school program is slated for three-days-a-week for eight weeks.
