CareerEdge Strengthens Its Hands-on Training Approach

Business

CareerEdge is launching a first of kind training to help ensure Suncoast Technical College (STC) construction students gain hands on experience by building their first tiny home. Approximately 180 students across 5 trades programs will gain hands on training over the next 10 months.  All trades students from plumbing, construction, HVAC, drafting and electrical will work together to construct the tiny home on campus. Dr. Ron Dipillo, Executive Director of ACTE, Sarasota County Technical College said, “The Tiny Home project is a creative collaborative project that not only serves as project-based learning for our current students, but also as a learning lab for future students.  These innovative learning opportunities are made possible by Career Edge and funders like Mr. Eppard.”
