La Serenissima, a $16.5 million dollar mansion in Longboat Key was purchased in November and the new owners hired Modus Builders, a locally licensed general contractor, to restore the home to its original beauty. Modus is organizing over 20 speciality contractors and tradespeople to complete the work and ensure the project meets their high quality standards, stays on schedule and remains on budget. Modus Builders will also implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure the exterior of the residence will be well protected against the salt water and air. For the interior, the owners are planning to update the lighting controls and integrate a voice-activated automated system across the residence. Additionally, the project will involve replacing the carpet on the master bedroom level with marble from Turkey and updating the home theater room.
