The Paradise Center Receives Grant from the Longboat Garden Club

The Giving Coast

The President of the Longboat Garden Club Susan Phillips along with Linda Ulrich Chair of the Garden Club’s Grants Committee presented a “check” for $2,000 to Suzy Brenner, President of The Paradise Center, to help fund an edible garden on the grounds of its senior community center on Longboat Key.  Suzy Brenner, Executive Director, The Paradise Center said, “I’m thrilled the Longboat Key Garden Club approved our grant application. We are planning an edible garden, with raised beds, so it is accessible for people who aren’t comfortable or able to get down on the ground. We’re going to start small, with some herbs and vegetables, then hopefully increase the size and scope over the next few years. We are looking for community members who love to garden to join our volunteer corps!”
