The McCune Family Foundation Awards $75,000 to The Florida Center

The Giving Coast

The Florida Center for Early Childhood was awarded $75,000 by The McCune Family Foundation to support therapeutic services for young children with developmental delays and disabilities. The foundation’s continued support ensures economically vulnerable children receive life-changing, early intervention services like occupational, speech-language, and mental health therapies. Many families cannot afford the cost of therapies or the specialized early education necessary to help their child reach their full potential.

“We see the impact of this funding every day,” said Dr. Kristie Skoglund, CEO. “When you watch a non-verbal child speak for the first time or a physically challenged child take their first steps, you realize the enormous impact the McCune Foundation is making.”

The agency is nationally recognized for its early childhood expertise in a variety of specialties including developmental therapies, mental health counseling, Starfish Academy preschool, the Healthy Families home-visiting program, and the state’s only Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders clinic.
