Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Receives $250K Gift from the Culverhouses in Support of SMH’s Efforts to Combat COVID -19 Delta Variant.

The Giving Coast

The $250,000 donation from Eliza and Hugh Culverhouse will be used to help Sarasota Memorial respond to the surge of COVID-19 patients at the hospital. Funds will be directed to areas of greatest need and will ensure that the hospital can continue to provide exceptional care to everyone in our community during this surge.

“This is a serious time of need for our hospital and our community. We wanted to help,” Mr. Culverhouse said. “We’re hoping to inspire others to do the same because our support will help the hospital manage through this crisis and show the frontline healthcare workers that we deeply appreciate everything they’re doing to get us through,” added Mrs. Culverhouse.

Since the pandemic began, the generosity of supporters such as the Culverhouse’s has provided Sarasota Memorial with critical resources that help the hospital care for COVID-19 patients, as well as all other patients who require care during this time.

“We are so grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Culverhouse for this generous and compassionate gift,” said Healthcare Foundation President, Mason Ayres. “Supporting the hospital through an unprecedented healthcare crisis doesn’t just benefit our health system, it benefits all of us.”

A donation to the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation COVID-19 Support Fund can be made by calling 941.917.1286 or on our website, smhf.org/covidsupport.
