City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Monday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day. There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Monday. The following pickups will be delayed by one day: Monday collection will occur on Tuesday, and Tuesday collection will occur on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday collection will not be interrupted. There will also be no commercial garbage collection Monday. Solid Waste staff will coordinate with commercial customers to adjust their individual collections accordingly. Hours of operation at recreation and cultural arts facilities for September 6 will vary. 

The regular City Commission meetings will be held Tuesday, September 7, and Wednesday, September 8, both beginning at 6 pm at City Hall, 1565 First St.
