The Van Wezel Foundation (Foundation) is now accepting applications for the Appleton Arts Integration Teacher Merit Scholarship. The Foundation, in partnership with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, is committed to supporting meaningful, high-quality arts integration across the region. The Appleton Merit Scholarship recognizes the achievements and potential of educators using arts integration in their classrooms or community. Recipients receive a scholarship to attend an approved national conference in arts integration or a local or virtual conference. It is open to all full-time teachers/educators serving the scope of the Van Wezel’s work (Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto or Charlotte County). Deadline for submission is January 7, 2022, and applicants may apply via this link. The awards will be announced and the winners formally recognized at the Foundation’s Inspiration Gala on Thursday, January 27, 2022. This annual scholarship is made possible by a legacy gift to the Foundation from Louise Appleton, a local philanthropist who had a passion for arts and its connection to education.
