Free Second Sundays at Sarasota Art Museum to Continue Through 2022

Arts & Culture

The Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College of Art and Design is pleased to report that the monthly free museum admission day on the second Sunday of every month will continue through 2022 thanks to the sustained financial support of the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation. Dates for ‘Free Second Sundays @ SAM’ in 2022 are January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, and December 11. ‘Free Second Sundays @ SAM’ programming is a free monthly event series presented at Sarasota Art Museum, providing greater access to the arts for Sarasota community members and their families. In addition to access to all exhibitions, additional programming includes: Musical Interludes on the Marcy & Michael Klein Plaza; Mary’s Front Porch storytelling performance for all ages where they can share their imagination and creativity; ‘What’s Your Medium?’ - an intergenerational art activity for discovering various creative mediums; and Ringling College Studio + Digital Arts Free Studio Day Activities.

“The Sarasota Art Museum and the Barancik Foundation share a deep commitment to making the arts available for everyone’s enjoyment. We are grateful for their continued support because it allows us to offer free admission and expanded family programming every month,” said Virginia Shearer, executive director of Sarasota Art Museum. “The ability to open our doors to the entire Sarasota community and provide interactive, enriching experiences for all fulfills a key part of our mission of being a visual arts education center with a museum at its heart.”
