Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation announced Deb Kabinoff’s appointment to board chair as Michael J. Valentino steps down to devote more time to his family. “We are grateful for Mike’s leadership and passion for our mission. During his time on our board, Mike was instrumental in growing the Healthcare Foundation’s presence throughout the community. We wish him the best,” says Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation president Mason Ayres.

Deb Kabinoff’s appointment to chair is effective immediately. “I’m looking forward to working with Deb in her new role as Healthcare Foundation chair. Her long standing commitment to Sarasota Memorial and making great healthcare available to all in our community will help fuel our continued growth as an organization,” added Ayres. Deb has a strong background in healthcare having had two companies specializing in innovative management strategies for healthcare. She holds an MBA and master’s certificate in health services management. Deb has served on the Healthcare Foundation board since 2019. She currently chairs the Grants Committee and has co-chaired several Healthcare Foundation events including the Women & Medicine Educational Luncheon.

“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve as chair of an organization I am so passionate about, and one whose mission truly benefits our community,” says Deb. “We have a very strong board and I am fortunate to be stepping in at a time when the Healthcare Foundation and SMH are experiencing exponential growth. Mike helped create that momentum and I plan to keep it going.”
