Sarasota Memorial to Break Ground on New Cornell Family Behavioral Health Pavilion

Business

At a time when more people are seeking care for anxiety, depression and other mental health issues, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is moving forward with a new behavioral health pavilion that will expand and centralize care for people with mental and behavioral health challenges. A groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction of Sarasota Memorial’s new Cornell Family Behavioral Health Pavilion will be held on the site with leaders of the health system, project managers, community partners and donors. The ceremony will include a brief presentation and remarks from health system leaders and Target Corp. Chairman and CEO Brian Cornell, who with wife Martha donated $10 million to support the pavilion’s comprehensive approach to care. SMH will be following CDC recommendations and limiting the gathering to invited guests and local media. The ceremony will take place Wednesday, March 30th from 10-11am at Cornell Behavioral Health Pavilion construction site, 1625 S. Osprey Ave. (enter off Waldemere Street).
