Linda Eder to Perform with The Venice Symphony May 6-7

The Venice Symphony welcomes Broadway and recording star Linda Eder for her only area appearance at Songs from the Screen and Stage, May 6-7 at the Venice Performing Arts Center. In January 2020, Broadway World hailed Eder as “dazzling” and “one of the greatest voices of our time.” She starred on Broadway in Jekyll and Hyde, has performed to sold-out crowds at venues in the United States and Europe, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall and the Kennedy Center. Eder has recorded 18 solo albums and collaborated with Marvin Hamlisch, Michael Feinstein and others. The concert program includes songs from Hello Dolly, Funny Girl and The Sound of Music along with beloved standards Almost Like Being in Love and more, performed with the orchestra. Season sponsors of The Venice Symphony are Gulf Coast Community Foundation and proceeds from the Sarasota County Tourist Development Tax. The Symphony will offer its free Meet the Maestro Pre-Concert Talks at 6:30 pm before evening concerts and 2:30 pm before afternoon concerts.
