It's a red, white and blue celebration as Tidewell Foundation honors Veterans during its 14th Annual Signature Luncheon at 11:30 a.m., March 3, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. The luncheon will feature nationally recognized speaker, former Army Major and Bronze Star recipient Dr. Sudip Bose. The 14th Annual Signature Luncheon is the Tidewell Foundation’s signature fundraising event to support services of Tidewell Hospice and other Empath Health not-for-profit affiliates across Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. As an Army battalion surgeon in the Iraq War, Dr. Bose was selected to treat Saddam Hussein after his capture. He has been recognized worldwide for the techniques developed in the battlefield that are now used in emergency rooms. Today he is a physician, a medical correspondent for major news outlets, and entrepreneur. The Luncheon also will recognize the Tidewell Honors Veterans Program, which provides specialized care for Veterans and their families and ensures that their service and sacrifices are remembered and revered. Last year the program served 1,079 Veterans. A key component of the program is a “pinning ceremony,” often performed by a fellow Veteran to honor a patient’s service. Caldwell Trust Company has returned to serve as the Exclusive Signature Luncheon Sponsor of the 14th Annual Signature Luncheon. Tickets for the luncheon are still available can be purchased by visiting tidewellfoundation.org or calling (941) 552-7569.
