To combat this, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes and Crime Prevention Units, along with Assistant State Attorney Andrew van Sickle, will present a free, educational seminar to assist citizens in recognizing and avoiding trending scams and frauds. This two-hour presentation will discuss various types of scams as well as how and when to report them to law enforcement. The seminar will be held at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road in Sarasota, on Thursday, June 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Seats are limited.
