Join UF/IFAS Extension Manatee County for our first ever Edible Gardening Festival Saturday, July 22 from 8AM-12PM at the downtown Bradenton community garden, “Manatee Square Garden,” and food forest! Learn about community gardens, food forests, and how to grow your own fruits, vegetables, and herbs at home! Participate in a seed swap, mango variety tastings, and reserve your own compost bin or rain barrel. We will be raffling seeds from a record-breaking 1039lb pumpkin that was grown right here in Manatee County! Learn about Florida-Friendly Landscaping™, ask plant questions to Master Gardener Volunteers, and learn about composting with Sunshine Community Compost. We will also be joined by Manatee County Utilities, Transition Sarasota, and Kona Ice. Located behind Cat Town at 410 6th Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34208. Open to all ages.
