The Sarasota Players rings in the holiday season with the hysterical sequel to the popular comedy, Greater Tuna, with A Tuna Christmas running Nov. 29 through Dec. 17 at The Crossings at Siesta key (3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239). The play is both an affectionate commentary and withering satire of small-town Southern life and attitudes and is sure to strike a chord with any theatre-goer. Three local actors will take on the challenge of transforming into over 20 different characters throughout the show. This includes costume changes, wigs, accents, and voices, it’s an actor’s marathon and our local performers are more than up to the challenge under the direction of Kathy Junkins with support from stage manager Michelle Martin. The costume shop, under the leadership of Georgina Willmott with assistance from David Walker, has been putting together the clothing pieces, some of which need to be rigged for quick changes. Our local production team is all hands on deck for this holiday spectacular.
