Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation'S Hospital Gala Raises Over $1.4 Million to Support Greatest Needs at SMH

The Giving Coast

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation hosted its 7th annual Hospital Gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota on January 6, 2024, with 625 guests in attendance. The event raised over $1.4 million and featured SMH’s Level II Trauma Center, the only trauma center in our area. The evening was hosted by the Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Since opening in 2015, SMH’s expert trauma, emergency and surgical teams have treated well over 34,000 patients. During the night’s mission moment, a severely injured and now recovered trauma patient was reunited with the trauma team who saved his life. He was also joined by the Sarasota County EMS captains who were on duty the night of his accident. The evening also included mission-focused speeches and concluded with dancing to a live performance by The Royals.
