The Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open recently announced its return with this year’s tennis tournament dates taking place April 7 - 14, 2024 at Payne Park in the City of Sarasota. The professional tennis tournament has been hosted in Sarasota since 2009. This year marks the third year the event is being held under its new ownership. The new owners represent some of the most successful tennis event organizers in the world and last year, more than 6,000 individuals purchased tickets to the week-long event. The annual event is played on outdoor Har-Tru green clay courts and is part of the Association of Tennis Professionals(ATP) Challenger Tour. With a huge economic impact, the tournament also brings top-tier tennis talent to the area.  “I am looking forward to another memorable and successful Sarasota Open at Payne Park Tennis Center this year,” said Elizabeth Moore, Sarasota philanthropist and title sponsor since 2017. “The goal is to bring together the City of Sarasota, the downtown business community and the ever-growing population of both tennis players and spectators of the game. We look forward to seeing everyone this year.” The 2024 Disco Tennis Ball, the tournament’s gala, will be held at Michael’s on East on Friday, April 12. Proceeds from the event will stay local and go to the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and Desoto Counties. Guests are encouraged to dust off their bell bottoms, dig out their headbands and get groovy with their best disco and retro tennis-inspired outfits or cocktail attire. A number of local businesses have already committed as sponsors, including City of SarasotaCoastal OrthopedicsFPLMademoiselle ParisMallory AgencyBoys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management, USTA Foundation and Visit Sarasota, with Elizabeth Moore being the title sponsor and Tommy’s Express Car Wash as the presenting sponsor. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities still remain.
