In recognition of Black History Month, Sarasota Memorial reflects on the trailblazing African American nurses and pioneering leaders from Newtown who overcame obstacles and broke through barriers to care for patients during segregation and beyond. SMH also produced a short video with interviews of Newtown leaders Jetson Grimes and Renee Gilbert reflecting on the community’s pioneering clinicians.
