Booker Middle Scholars Walk to End Hunger

Hunger does not take a summer break, and neither do the scholars of Booker Middle School. To support local children facing food insecurity, students and staff at Booker Middle School recently participated in the Walk to End Summer Hunger, raising awareness and funds for All Faiths Food Bank’s Campaign Against Summer Hunger. For more than 40,000 children in Sarasota and DeSoto counties, the end of the school year marks the beginning of a difficult season. Many students rely on free and reduced-price meals at school, and with Florida opting out of the Summer EBT program, families struggling to put food on the table are facing an even greater challenge.
