The Florida Center Receives $30,000 Grant from Bank of America Foundation to Support Children in Need

The Giving Coast

No child should lose access to essential therapy due to insurance challenges—but for many with developmental delays, that’s the reality. A $30,000 grant from the Bank of America Client Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, will help The Florida Center for Early Childhood close these gaps, ensuring local children continue to receive the speech-language and occupational therapy they need to thrive. The funding supports the Florida Center’s Early Developmental Therapy program, which provides developmental therapy services for children whose families are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing a temporary lapse in coverage. Many rely on Medicaid or private insurance plans that limit how often—or how long—therapy can be provided, resulting in delays that may set a child’s development back by weeks or even months.
