Choral Artists of Sarasota Merges with Via Nova Chorale

Two of Sarasota’s most critically recognized choral ensembles are joining forces. Choral Artists of Sarasota, which recently celebrated its 46th season and the retirement of longtime artistic director Joseph Holt, will merge with Via Nova Chorale—an innovative vocal ensemble originally founded in 2008 as Musica Sacra and renamed in 2024 following the appointment of Steven Phillips as artistic director. The merger ensures the continuation of Choral Artists’ legacy of artistic excellence, professional engagement, and community-centered programming.
