From Hunger to Hope: Local Family's Bequest to Support Area Food Pantries

The Giving Coast

As a child, Beth Bredemeyer and her sister often didn’t know where their next meal would come from.  Thankfully, both girls were eventually adopted into a loving family, but Beth never forgot the lean times. Dr. Glenn L. and Elizabeth (Beth) M. Bredemeyer moved from Ohio to Sarasota in 1979.  They loved their community, the beautiful water and so much of what life has to offer in such a wonderful place. Glenn served the community as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.  Beth broke "glass ceilings" with her work as a project manager and systems analyst in banking. Today, the Mayor’s Feed the Hungry Program is pleased to announce a $100,000 gift from the Glen and Beth Bredemeyer estate.
