SRQ MEDIA Announces Teri A. Hansen as the 2025 Lifetime Good Hero Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient—Annual Giving Coast Luncheon on December 10, 2025

The Giving Coast

SRQ MEDIA is proud to announce Teri A. Hansen, outgoing President and CEO of the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, as the 2025 recipient of the SRQ Good Hero Lifetime Achievement Award. The prestigious recognition will be presented during the Annual SRQ Giving Coast and Good Hero Awards Luncheon taking place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Michael’s On East Ballroom.

With over 30 years of leadership in philanthropy, including 13 years at Gulf Coast Community Foundation and a transformative decade at the Barancik Foundation, Hansen has been instrumental in shaping the region’s nonprofit sector. Her commitment to collaborative change, strategic giving and strengthening community resilience—particularly through the recent hurricanes, COVID-19, and times of crisis—has left an enduring legacy.

Good Hero Award Recipient Teri A. Hansen says, “This isn’t my recognition. It’s the recognition of Chuck and Margie Barancik’s generous expression of their love of our community, the board and staff who translate that generosity and our amazing nonprofit organizations who use it to improve the quality of life of our neighbors. It has been a privilege to be part of this extraordinary foundation and to be able to work in a community that cares about others and rallies around those who need help. I have been impressed with how hard the arts organizations work to include all people, knowing that the arts have a humanizing effect that strengthens our community, and our environmental agencies that want all of us to have a healthy, clean environment. And Chuck and Margie knew that education is the cornerstone of individual well-being and community prosperity. I am fortunate to have been in the front seat to watch all these people do extraordinary work and know that their efforts are having a positive impact on Chuck and Margie’s beloved community.”

Teri Hansen embodies the very spirit of SRQ Magazine’s Good Hero Honorees: visionary leadership paired with deep compassion for community. From mentoring the next generation of nonprofit leaders to expanding access to education, healthcare and basic needs across our region, her legacy is woven into the fabric of the independent sector.

The Good Hero Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to a distinguished community member who has made a profound and lasting impact through their philanthropic leadership. Hansen joins inaugural honoree Roxie Jerde, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, in receiving this honor.

The Annual Giving Coast Luncheon, produced by SRQ MEDIA, features a Philanthropic Agenda panel discussion with local community and private foundation leaders, followed by the Good Hero Philanthropic Awards ceremony, which recognizes nonprofit champions in our community—from volunteers and board members to philanthropists and staff members.
