Halfacre Construction Company, a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, recently had one of its projects, the new South County Courthouse in Venice, Florida, awarded LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver. LEED, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.
