New College of Florida Awarded U.S. Department of Education Grant for America's 250th Celebration

The Giving Coast

New College of Florida has been awarded a $1.8 million U.S. Department of Education American History and Civics Seminars grant to launch a transformative project in honor of the United States’ Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding in 1776. The project, titled “Invigorating Liberty and Self-Governance: First Principles for 21st Century America,” will equip teachers and students in grades 5–12 with the tools to explore the nation’s founding principles through history, civics, and open inquiry.
