Local Sustainability Champions Honored at 20th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop

Nine area residents have been named “Sustainability Champion” for their commitment to advancing or promoting strategies that help build resilient communities and address current environmental challenges.The honors were announced Nov. 6 by Sarasota County UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability during the organization’s annual Sustainable Communities Workshop. This year celebrated the 20th anniversary of the popular event that provides the latest expert information about creating thriving, livable, and lasting communities.
