Safe Children Coalition (SCC) is reimagining what’s possible for children and families across Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties. As the community-based care agency for Circuit 12, SCC has expanded its Prevention and Diversion programs to reach families long before a crisis leads to child welfare involvement. Last year alone, more than 10,000 children and families received services, with over 80% supported through prevention-focused programs such as Youth Prevention Services, Schoolhouse Link, a Youth Shelter for homeless teens, and more. SCC’s sustained focus on prevention programs is evidenced by nearly 50,000 hours spent with families providing family support services, counseling, and other essential tools to help children remain safely at home.
