Santa Claus made a special stop at Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) to bring holiday cheer to children and families in the hospital this week. From tiny hand squeezes to heartfelt smiles, Santa shared precious moments and photos with families of newborns and children hospitalized during the holidays. “There is nothing that transforms the place quite like the sound of a booming ‘Ho Ho Ho!’ and seeing Santa strolling down the hospital hallway in his red velvet suit and jingling bells,” said Abby Olsen, director of Women & Children’s Services at SMH-Sarasota. “It’s a wonderful surprise that brings smiles, cheer and a little holiday magic to our hospitalized children and their families, and our own staff.”
