Stephani Dentici opened Glow Up Aesthetics, her local business providing medical skin treatments and ongoing care, just over a month after she first had the idea to start her own business. “My main goal behind opening Glow was to help everybody feel beautiful. I wanted them to be comfortable in their skin,” she says. To achieve this goal, Dentici’s work has an added focus on education and teaching her clients how to maintain good skin long-term.

Dentici began her career in an office job in the medical field, but found herself drawn to patient care and decided to shift towards a career where she could use her own love of skincare to help others. She studied to become an aesthetician, a three-month process, and officially earned her license in 2018. Although aestheticians do have to renew their license each year, Dentici says she goes above and beyond the minimum requirements to learn and improve year-round.

“The people who are successful in this field understand that continued education isn't just to renew your license, it's all year round,” says Dentici. “There are always things changing in the industry. Just as science is always progressing and changing, it's the same thing with skincare. There are new things coming out on the market, and there are new techniques. You have to be on your game to be the best in your field.”

Much of Dentici’s work focuses on helping clients with acne and hyperpigmentation through advanced skincare and corrective chemical peels. Glow Up Aesthetics also offers sugaring, an alternative to waxing made with just sugar, lemon and water, which provides a more organic option than waxing.

Dentici says that growing up in a family of small business owners and entrepreneurs inspired her to open her own business. “Looking back, I don't think an office job was ever meant for me. It just makes sense that this is the path that I went on.” After growing up in Sarasota, she has enjoyed the opportunity to help those in her community look and feel their best. “I'm very honored to be known in the community for helping people build confidence. I'm very honored that women, or even men, see my business as helping them to grow and have more confidence.”

After five years of Glow Up Aesthetics, Dentici says she plans to continue her own education to provide clients the best care possible. “I feel like, as people, if we remain stagnant, we're not growing. And I feel like my business is the same—whatever you put into your business is what comes out of it,” she says. “The business always needs to change. It always needs to grow. It always needs to be moving and doing something new.”
