Affordable Homeownership with King's Cross Place

BrandStory

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is building its next chapter of affordable homeownership with King’s Cross Place, a 27-home community taking shape just east of Oneco in Bradenton. Designed for hardworking families earning between 50 and 80 percent of the area median income, these homes offer a true hand up through affordable mortgages, providing long-term stability, dignity, and opportunity during a continuing housing crisis.King’s Cross Place will feature a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes built with the sustainable, resilient practices Habitat is known for, paired with a more contemporary design. Infrastructure development for this community began in May 2025, and we've committed to starting one new home each month beginning in January 2026. On average, families will pay just $900 to $1,000 per month for a 30-year mortgage (not including taxes and insurance), making stable, affordable homeownership attainable for working families in Manatee County.Every home built represents a stronger future for local families, but this work is only possible through community support. Volunteers help build nearly 70 percent of Habitat homes, and every donated dollar goes directly toward construction. To get involved through volunteering or donations, visit manateehabitat.org/kcp.
